Today’s enterprise is dependent on the exceptional operation of any number of applications across its entire integrated IT infrastructure. Poor application performance can result in significant business costs. The effects may be direct (the breakdown of a customer facing operation) or indirect (slow performance affecting operational productivity and efficiency). Monitoring and managing the hardware and network infrastructure alone is no longer sufficient to facilitate the effective delivery of IT business services. Today, applications run across every IT boundary; including network, database, client-end, mainframe, enterprise application, and the Web. Application Process Management (APM) can provide the necessary end-to-end analysis required to track an application’s performance across the infrastructure.
